FAQs

What ages work for your kids' classes?
+

Ages 5 to 18, split into age-appropriate groups. Younger kids (5-7) do simpler recipes with more supervision; older kids (8-18) tackle more technique and independence.

How many kids can attend?
+

We would recommend 6 to 15 kids max per class so we can give each dish and young chef the attention they need to be well supervised and learn something new. If there are more than 6 in a class I'll bring my assistant. Great for birthday parties, school breaks, summer camps, or just a really cool weekend activity.

What do the kids cook?
+

Pizza, pasta, corndogs, potato wedges, cupcakes, and other kid-friendly favorites. Menus are hands-on, fun, and result in something they actually want to eat — no "adult food" they pick at. But also some "adult food" they'll want to devour.

Is it safe for younger children?
+

Yes — we use kid-safe tools, supervised stovetop work, and age-appropriate tasks. Chef Joey has run 60+ kids' sessions without a single injury.

If you'd rather not have your child chopping, please pre-chop items for virtual classes and indicate to us prior to in-person classes if chopping is not preferred.

Do parents need to stay during the class?
+

In-Person In-home - You are welcome to hover but we've got it. If you have kids who you are not sure of their skill levels we will have a discussion about knife safety and whether we include lessons like chopping at all.

In-Person at Our Venue - Drop them off, go have a drink, and come pick them up

Virtual Classes - Depending on the age of your kiddo you may need to help along the way or if they are older please hover in the background in case they need you to step in for the technology or if they are falling behind and are too shy to tell me to slow down.
