All Hear Her Roar

To mark International Women’s Day March 8, I’m honouring my four most highly influential female chefs that had the biggest impact on me in my profession. They fuelled my passion and I love this taste of culinary history. We just need to narrow it down so stay tuned.

Alice Waters - Chez Panisse, Berkeley - Her two most famous signature salads:

  • Baked Goat Cheese and Garden Lettuce with Shallot Red Wine Dressing

Susan Spicer - Bayona, New Orleans - Her most famous signature dish:

Cristeta Comerford - White House Executive Chef since 2005 Serving Bill & Hillary, George W. & Laura, Barack & Michelle, “_” & Melania and currently Joe & Jill.

  • Sticky Chicken Adobo

Leah Chase - Dooky Chase, New Orleans - Chef and co-owner, Chase made the eatery a hub for the African American community of New Orleans and a meeting place for pioneers of the civil rights movement.

Is it lunch? Is it breakfast? It just doesn’t matter you can eat it all together. It’s like eating your dessert before your meal. No one cares! Wheeeeeee. We’ve picked our favourites for you to try.

Pizza Pizza

KIDS Open Class

This is amore! Homemade pizza crust that is light and crispy, topping suggestions for kids and grown-ups and homemade sauce to boot. Forgeddaboudit.

Mexican Tapas

Open Class

Time: March 26 at 5:30pm MST

Cost: $30

Let’s escape to Mexico with a few little tapas to eat with our cold ones. We will sample along the way and do it the Mexican way.

Everything’s Coming Up Sunshine

KIDS Open Class

It’s coming up sunshine! Everything in tasty shades of yellows and oranges. It’s coming into spring after all and we’ll be seeing more of it everyday!

Like the song from Meatloaf says, this meatloaf is paradise by the oven light! This meatloaf is jacked up and zinging with flavour and the mashed potatoes are creamy goodness.

Veggie Bowl with Love

You are going to love this veggie bowl bursting with flavour.

Valentine’s Day Dinner & a Movie

Open Class

“The best love[food] is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more” said Nicholas Spark in the Notebook. The movie is set in Charleston, South Carolina and that is where we took our inspiration. Take a trip to the South with us and catch the Notebook after.

Menu:

  • Charleston Roasted Lamb Chops* with Brown Sugar Bourbon Glaze

  • Smoked Hasselback Potatoes

  • Banana and Bittersweet Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Twisted Comfort Food

We’ve taken a classic and turned it upside down. With fresh basil and beautiful spices in this sauce, your kids and you…will love it. We’ve included a garlic toast recipe as a bonus.

These little pockets of heaven are great with a salad or for a meal on the run. This is packed with flavour and spiced to your/your kids’ liking!

The kids killed it. They all kept up and the biscuits looked amazing. We put a pile right into the lunch kit for the next day!

It felt like summer grilling the Jambalaya and the Creole sauce is still being poured on everything we eat after class! The kids crushed it!

That Cioppino was so flavourful1 We were sopping it up with the grilled bread. Didn’t even take it out of the pot. Shameful.
